I'm going to be in new york (manhattan) next week and I'd like to know
repeater freqs (and offsets and PL tones) for 2m around the area.
Last time I was there, I could not get to any of the local repeaters
at all and only got one that is 50 mi north of manhattan.
please email replies.
thanks in advance

I think the ARRL is the only one still running an outbound service, and
you have to be a member to use it. But it IS cheap; $1 for up to 10
cards, or $2 per pound (about 150 cards).
The ARRL also supports incoming bureaus for each call area. For your
call (8th call area), the incoming bureau is:
8th Area QSL Bureau
PO Box 182165
Columbus, OH 43218-2165
You can contact them about their policies regarding keeping envelopes
on file to receive your cards.

My Realistic Pro-2004 scanner has a sticky key. It looks like something
has indented the number 6 key, causing it to stay pressed intermittantly.
I've removed the screws that hold the PC board in place which contain the
keys, but I'm still unable to remove the board. Does anyone know if this
is glued to the membrane face, or if it's attached some other way? I'm
thinking if I can get behind the membrane front, I can iron out the
indentation of the keypad and fix the problem. The service manual has been
of no help in this regard.
Reply via this board or email, I'll read (and much appreciate) either!
Thanks,

To: info-hams@ucsd.edu
I was wondering if anyone might know where I could pick up a file
containing a breakdown of RF bands by frequency and use for most, if not
all of the radio spectrum. I've tried to find a good publication which
would have this in it, but have yet to find a good one. I'd like to
find raging from LF to UHF if possible.
I thought this group would be a good one to as for this information and
maybe someone could point me to a good ftp site.
Thanks,
Mike

Azden makes a 6m handheld, FM only. I think it puts out 10w, and is
advertised in all the major ham magazines here in the US.

Without sticking my nose into the good book, I think there should be no
problem with this as long as the uncoordinated operation does not
interfere with a coordinated operation. The big asterisk here is that the
coordinating body can coordinate an operation six months from now, and if
you're uncoordinated, even if you've "been there" longer, you'll have to
move on.

One of the funny things about SoCal is that SCRBA refuses to release the
actual location of the repeaters. All you get is a long list of
callsigns, frequencies (no PL's) and the boundries of SCRBA's influence.
You don't know if a particular repeater is in Santa Barbara or just west
of Yuma.

I totally agree.

Hi Roger. We've enjoyed one or two good roundtables on .925 before.

I couldn't agree more. In fact, I'd even be happy with "any new
coordinations must be open and remain open for a minimum of 12 months"
until some kind of reaonsable balance is struck.
